Time to reflect

So for many of us the 2017 season is now over and before we look forward it’s a good time to look back and reflect on what went well, what you are most proud of and what you would do differently.

The Goals you set yourself – Where they outcome goals or process goals? Where they based on your own personal achievements or more dependent on the performance of others?

It’s a good therapeutic process to write it all down and think about the year as a whole right back through till last November when it all started.

  • For me – what went well was my motivation and enthusiasm to race and train, never missing more than a couple of session in the last 12 months.
  • I am most proud of my performance in the last race of the season where I dug deeper than ever before, breaking down a few mental barriers and bagged myself a pb at 30 miles.
  • Next time – I will focus more on mental preparation, self-belief and kick that bloody monkey into touch when it pops up on my shoulder. I have done the training, I have the ability, I have the strength and most importantly I HAVE A TRAINING PLAN.
